Allegedly drunk Port Lincoln driver ‘illegally overtook police car, prompting breath test’

Police said a South Australian drunk driver illegally overtook a patrol vehicle yesterday afternoon before recording a blood alcohol reading over the legal limit.

The 45-year-old Port Lincoln woman is accused of overtaking a police patrol vehicle, crossing double lines on the road, about 5:30pm on Friday.
Police said the manoeuvre drew officers’ attention, on a road just west of the small SA city, and the driver was stopped for a breath test.
