Space news: Asteroid 501647 (2014 SD224) to pass Earth – 7NEWS.com.au
The space rock is travelling about 10 kilometres per second.

Santa Claus wont be the only one flying above Earth on Christmas Day.
An asteroid measuring about 123 metres in size will whiz past our planet according to NASA.
The huge space rock is officially known as 501647 (2014 SD224) and is travelling about 10 kilometres per second, or 36,000 kilometres per hour.
The good news is theres no need to panic about Earth being destroyed (it is 2020!), it will remain at an extremely safe distance – 3,036,775 kilometres.
