GP’s complaint against Seven West’s Kalgoorlie Miner newspaper upheld by Independent Media Council

A body formed by Seven West Media to handle complaints against its mastheads has found in favour of a GP accused of “frightening” air passengers during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.
Key points:
- April Armstrong complained to the Independent Media Council (IMC) about articles published by the Kalgoorlie Miner earlier this year
- The two reports in question were published on the newspaper’s website at 5:00am on March 23 and in the print edition on March 24
- The IMC found the newspaper had relayed “incorrect information” and failed to provide Dr Armstrong a right of reply
