Fight over the right to party at Edinburgh Gardens as council mulls alcohol ban – The Age
Yarra Council could temporarily ban alcohol at the popular park in Fitzroy North after residents complained of drug use and rubbish.

A community campaign against the proposal to ban alcohol is already under way.
Bran from Collingwood, who did not want his surname used because of his employment, is part of a group of people pushing to keep Edinburgh Gardens open.
“I think that the proposal is out of touch with the vast majority who live in the area,” Bran said, calling on council to work with park users to respond to concerns.
