An under-resourced public health system and underestimation of staff-to-staff transmission impacted Tasmania’s response to a deadly coronavirus outbreak in the state’s northwest.
The cluster, which sparked in early April, was the first major outbreak on Australian shores and forced Burnie’s public and private hospitals to close for an extended period.
