UPDATE @8.20AM | A worsening situation has forced the closure of two busy Gold Coast roads this morning, after a burst water main turned into a sinkhole.
It’s happened in the northbound lanes along Sunshine Boulevard, just opposite the 7/11 service station.
It was initially reported as a burst water main incident, with council crews on scene since the early hours of this morning.
It seems the situation has considerably worsened throughout the morning, with a sinkhole now opening up on the road.
