New report shows after leaving state care in Victoria, a third of young people experience homelessness
For twin sisters Amelia and Julia leaving out-of-home care was a time in their life filled with uncertainty.
The Bendigo sisters spent six months in care from the age of 16.
They stayed with two families they knew but were always unsure where they would live next.
“Having no idea what is going to happen next, if we would find another placement or go back home, we had no idea.”
Amelia said the sisters had little contact with any child protection staff during their second placement.
