Halls Head murder of Scott Martin after release of Damian Maxfield from custody probed by coroner

A woman told a police officer a violent, drug-affected man used a knife to threaten to kill her and her daughter before he was released from custody and went on to stab to death a Perth father later that same night, a coronial inquest has heard.

Scott Martin died after being stabbed to death in his Halls Head apartment in January 2017, while his partner Erelle Mason was brutally bashed after disturbing the killer.
