Couple married for 50 years die hours apart after battling COVID-19, daughter says – WTAE Pittsburgh

ATLANTA (via WSB) —A Georgia couple married 50 years died of COVID-19 hours apart on Thanksgiving Day.
The husband’s mother had just died weeks earlier with the same diagnosis.
Karen Kirby, the couple’s daughter, took a picture of her parents side by side in the intensive care unit.
Willard and Wilma Bowen from Douglasville, Georgia, were married for 50 years.
Willard, an antique dealer, died first. Wilma Gail, a school nurse, died a few hours later.
Kirby said they both had COVID.
