Quarantined travellers in Queensland hotel rooms lose fresh air breaks

One person in quarantine, who spoke to Brisbane Times on condition of anonymity, said they had been told police and hotel staff did not know the official reason for the change, but the breaks would not come back.

“I think it’s going to be a real source of frustration. It’s going to be a blowing point because no one’s telling us what’s going on,” the person said.

“We’re now permanently indoors with no fresh air, no open windows and no balconies.

“To be able to go outside twice a day and stretch your legs and fill your lungs, it’s the only thing that gives you any joy.”

Queensland CHO Jeannette Young confirmed on Monday the fresh air breaks had been cancelled.
