Fraser Island fires: Happy Valley under threat from ‘very dangerous’ bushfire

People in two hamlets are being urged to “leave immediately” as a dangerous bushfire bears down on them on Queensland’s Fraser Island.
The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have warned people in Yidney Rocks and The Oaks to evacuate via Eastern Beach on Monday afternoon.
The large blaze, which has already destroyed half the world heritage listed island, is set to hit the two hamlets on Monday afternoon.
