Russell got the better start and led his team mate through the first section of the race. Over half a lap ahead of the rest of the field, Russell seemed to be coasting to an excellent first win and leading home a one-two for his adopted team. But Mercedes then opted to pit both drivers under the late Safety Car, double stacking their drivers. Chaos ensued as they accidentally put Russell onto Bottas tyres and then the Finn was left waiting while they tried to ascertain just what had happened….
