EMERGING trainer Maddie Raymond toasted the biggest win of her fledgling career on Sunday with Wentwood winning the Werribee Cup.
EMERGING trainer Maddie Raymond toasted the biggest win of her fledgling career on Sunday with Wentwood winning the Werribee Cup.
A perfectly timed run from jockey Damian Lane resulted in Wentwood denying Sentimentalist and Tan Check in a driving finish.
“It’s still a bit surreal,” Raymond said after the emotional victory.
“I’ve got to pay full credit to Damian … he’s (Wentwood) got ability but to be able to get the best out of him has definitely taken a lot of time and patience.”
