Financial incentives to stop Tasmanian hotel quarantine staff working second jobs

The Tasmanian Premier has announced a new plan to supplement the wages of hotel quarantine workers, to reduce their need to work second jobs.

- Part-time workers will receive full-time rates, reducing their need for second jobs
- Workers will also receive an additional payment in recognition of the unique role they are fulfilling
The announcement was made shortly before the first international repatriation flight touched down in Hobart, shortly before 10:00am today — with 109 passengers from Delhi, India.
