Jupiter and Saturn Will Form ‘Double Planet’ This December for the First Time in 800 Years – EcoWatch

The night sky has a special treat in store for stargazers this winter solstice.
On Dec. 21, Jupiter and Saturn will be so closely aligned that they will appear as a “double planet,” Rice University astronomer Patrick Hartigan announced in a university press release.
