Queensland businesses to cop $6000 fines for serving foam cups – Brisbane Times
The state already had plans to ban plastic straws, stirrers and cutlery in 2021.

The legislation was expected to be some of the first laws to be passed when Parliament returns in 2021. The LNP had previously supported the ban.
Almost 20,000 submissions were sent in during first round of public consultation, 94 per cent of which were in favour of banning single-use plastic items, Environment Minister Meaghan Scanlon said.
