It’s been yet another year of tumultuous highs and lows for Australian rugby but the game gets an A-plus for survival.

So, the usual confident proclamations about the Wallabies’ standing in the world cannot be made with much confidence.
But we can at least to paint a picture of the overall health of the game, broken down into three parts: Dave Rennie’s Wallabies, Rugby Australia and Super Rugby (the entire rugby ‘ecosystem’ is of course far bigger than this but that’s probably for another day). The Wallabies have inched forwards, although a loss to the Pumas on Saturday would eradicate any gains.
