Queensland woman Heidi Strbak to be released from prison after being resentenced for manslaughter of son Tyrell Cobb

A Queensland woman will be immediately released from prison after being resentenced to a reduced five years in jail for the manslaughter of her four-year-old son Tyrell Cobb.
Heidi Strbak’s original nine-year prison term was suspended immediately because she had already spent more than 1100 days in custody following her conviction in 2017.
It comes after a Supreme Court judge ruled Strbak could only be sentenced for failing to seek medical attention for her son.
That was because the Crown had failed to establish that she was the one responsible for Tyrell’s traumatic injuries.
