Jury in Jarryd Hayne rape trial says it’s unable to reach unanimous verdict

The jury in the rape trial of former NRL star Jarryd Hayne has been urged to keep deliberating after announcing it has been unable to reach a unanimous verdict.
After considering their verdict on Thursday afternoon and again today, the members of the jury delivered a note to Newcastle District Court judge Peter Whitford this afternoon.
The note said they were in dispute over the guilt or innocence of Mr Hayne on two counts of aggravated sexual assault, without consent, recklessly inflicting actual bodily harm.
Judge Whitford said he hoped a break over the weekend would bring more clarity for the jurors when they resume their deliberations on Monday morning.
More to come.
