Toyota Australia has recalled 23,957 examples of its HiLux ute and Fortuner SUV.
According to the recall notice from Toyota, “improper moulding conditions” during production of the resin piston inside the vehicles’ brake boosters – which, as its name suggests, amplifies the braking force applied when the brake pedal is pushed – could cause the piston’s strength to degrade.
