After calling the build-to-rent sector a ‘stupid idea’ six months ago, Tim Gurner has had a change of heart, partnering with real estate investment house Qualitas….

Rather than deliver affordable housing, Mr Gurner said he would provide an “aspirational luxury lifestyle to a much wider range of people”.
I do believe that the sector will reduce the ability of mum-and-dad investors to play a part in the investment property market. However, given the market conditions are now ripe for the asset class, we wanted to ensure we are a big part of the industry and lead the way in design and innovation,” he told The Australian Financial Review.
