NAB taps Les Matheson for COO – The Australian Financial Review
NAB chief executive Ross McEwan hires his former head of retail and business banking at RBS for the role of chief operating officer.

NAB said that as COO Mr Matheson will have responsibility for Ubank, marketing, corporate affairs and “other key strategic initiatives”.
Mr Matheson’s previous role was head of personal and business banking at RBS where he reported directly to Mr McEwan when he was the CEO.
Prior to joining RBS Mr Matheson spent 10 years working for Citi which included six years as the CEO of Citi’s Australian retail offering and four years as Citi’s group CEO for central Asia.
