Deadly sodium cyanide spill at Port of Brisbane

Specialist firefighters wearing hazmat suits and breathing apparatus are on scene at Patrick’s Wharf at the Port of Brisbane following a significant spill of the chemical sodium cyanide.According to a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman, scientific crews and specialist QFES workers trained in the removal of dangerous substances are at the scene, which was established about 8am on Wednesday.
