Most people believe bulimia involves vomiting after eating, and this is how it is brought to life in The Crown. But vomiting is only one method by which those with bulimia struggle to control food, weight and body shape.
Some people fast or starve themselves following binges, others ingest laxatives and diuretics. Many adopt rigid forms of “clean” eating, and over-exercising is another method of restriction, which cleverly disguises itself as a healthy lifestyle choice. Herein lies another misconception….
