Treasurer Tim Pallas has defended the new tax on electric vehicle owners and admitted the Metro Tunnel will be over-budget but refused to say by how much.
The Treasurer also defended the government’s suburban rail loop project, which it committed $2 billion towards in the budget despite the business plan not being finalised.
