Tasmania’s AFL taskforce chairman Brett Godfrey has once again pushed for the state to have its own team, insisting North Melbourne and Hawthorn have not succeeded…
The taskforce is intent on securing a team in Tasmania by 2025 and has had the support of high-profile Tasmanian footy names including St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt.
Although both North Melbourne and Hawthorn have existing commercial agreements with Tasmania to play a set number of games in the state per season, Godfrey told SEN their efforts to generate growing interest had been unsuccessful.
