Mass coronavirus testing starts tomorrow in Glasgow at two locations – Glasgow Live
The roll-out aims to identify asymptomatic cases to help curb the spread of transmission
A mass testing programme is to be rolled out across Greater Glasgow to trace the virus more effectively from this week.
Residents in five of Scotland’s coronavirus hotspots including Glasgow and Renfrewshire are being targeted, the BBC reports.
It means asymptomatic cases – people who don’t display symptoms – may be identified and help curb the spread of transmission.
Scotland’s clinical director Professor Jason Leitch has said the scheme could be expanded to more communities if it is successful.
