Shrek The Musical coming to Brisbane next month
Shrek The Musical will be performed in Brisbane next month in what is believed to be the first major musical performed in front of a full-capacity audience in Australia since a pandemic was declared.
The Broadway musical, based on the animated films, was slated to take the stage in May, but was cancelled after strict social-distancing rules closed theatres around the world.

Queensland Performing Arts Centre lost “a fortune” when shows were cancelled for 22 weeks this year, chief executive John Kotzas said.
“In those 22 weeks when we were not performing, we lost 616 performances – that is an extraordinary amount of money … it is millions,” he said.
