Bushfire embers can endanger suburban Perth homes, warn fire authorities

When David Williams left the leafy Perth hills for a newly built street in the suburbs, he thought his days of constantly having fire in the back of his mind were over.

But last summer a bushfire ignited in a small patch of bushland not far from his home, which quickly escalated into an emergency warning — a possibility fire authorities say could happen to anyone.
