Long ago, when there were still old songs yet to sing, Black Friday marked the beginning of the holiday shopping period, when retailers would offer major doorbuster deals designed to get people to enter the actual physical doors of a store, perhaps busting them in the process. A few days later, they would hold online deals for Cyber Monday, as a way of boosting the still-nascent concept of online shopping.
That distinction has been largely nonexistent…
