As Jarryd Hayne took the stand for the first time at his trial in the Newcastle District Court the jury also heard a tapped phone conversation between the fallen NRL player and Knights captain Mitchell Pearce.
Hayne is facing two counts of aggravated sexual intercourse without consent recklessly inflicting actual bodily harm.
The charges stem from an alleged incident involving a then-26-year-old woman on the night of the 2018 NRL grand-final.
