Brisbane council to dissolve year-round boards in favour of panels

Lord mayor Adrian Schrinner told Brisbane Times switching from boards to panels would provide external expert advice on an as-needs basis rather than retaining experts year-round.
“It achieves the same outcome, just in a more efficient or effective way,” he said.
Mr Lynch told Brisbane Times he was pleased to see the work of Urban Futures Brisbane completed.
“Essentially, it’s been around a long time and the administration has looked at all the boards and frankly speaking, our board has done its job,” he said.
He said the fresh approach to external advisory panels would also ensure the council also had a more equitable gender balance with a wider range of expert advice.
