Victorian prosecutors drop indecent assault charge against musician Dan Sultan

Victorian prosecutors have withdrawn an indecent assault charge against ARIA award-winning singer Dan Sultan.
The performer was accused of assaulting someone at a party in 2008 in Brunswick, in Melbourne’s inner-north.
However, the charge was struck out at a short session of the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Mr Sultan, who is also known as Daniel Loorham, was charged in January this year by the Fawkner Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team.
His barrister had previously told the court that he intended to fight the accusation and plead not guilty.
Mr Sultan did not appear in court today.
