Super Mario Bros 3 Nintendo game sells for record-breaking amount at auction – 7NEWS.com.au
It’s now the most expensive copy of a game ever sold worldwide – and auctioneers say it’s because of the packaging.

A decades-old version of Super Mario Bros. 3 has sold for almost a quarter of a million dollars after going under the hammer in the US.
The rare copy, which sold for AUD$215,000 (USD$156,000) in Texas, is now the most expensive copy of a game ever sold worldwide.
The game, sold by Heritage Auctions last week, opened bidding at AUD$84,800 (USD$62,500).
A total of 20 people bid on the video game before the record-breaking price was reached.
