Queensland road checkpoints to cease from December 1 as coronavirus restrictions ease
The road checkpoints that have been a feature of Queensland’s border since March will be removed from December 1.
Key points:
- Only travellers from a hotspot or overseas will need to complete a border declaration
- Queensland police will meet any flights arriving at domestic airports from hotspots
- Police will also conduct random intercepts of vehicles and checking if people may have come from SA
Queensland police Deputy Commissioner Steve Gollschewski confirmed with restrictions easing for travellers from Victoria and Greater Sydney, the very visible border operation will come to an end.
