Jack de Belin accused of creating ‘false version of events’ on night of alleged rape

Jurors in the trial of Jack de Belin have been told the NRL star’s account of what occurred the night he is accused of raping a 19-year-old woman is an “implausible” story.

- The prosecution tells the jury Mr de Belin thought he could do whatever he wanted on the night in question
- It submitted that co-accused Callan Sinclair did not initiate sexual activity but made a mistake by joining in
- Both men have pleaded not guilty and say sex with the 19-year-old woman was consensual
