CityCycle to go, but outdoor advertising designed to fund bike scheme to stay

But JCDecaux will retain its lucrative advertising contracts on Brisbane street furniture, billboards and bus advertising wraps, with an additional 10 years added to its contract with the council until 2031.
The company will no longer need to pay for the struggling CityCycle scheme, which after 10 years had racked up just 4 million trips and had to be subsidised by the council to keep it running. In contrast, e-scooters introduced to Brisbane in 2018 have already made 3.5 million trips.
