Taylor Swift skipped the 2020 American Music Awards for a very good reason

The 2020 edition of the American Music Awards was held on Sunday, November 22 in the US (Monday, November 23 here in Australia) at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles in front of a small live audience and hosted by Taraji P. Henson. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the live audience consisted of limited groups of invitees from the same families who were socially distanced and tested for Covid-19. It’s a marked change from the large live audience and concert-like energy of past American Music Awards, but is in line with the Covid-safe reimagined awards shows of 2020.
