Man killed in shark attack at Broome’s Cable Beach

A man has been killed in a shark attack off Broome’s Cable Beach, in Western Australia’s north, according to local authorities.

At about 8:45am, police were told of a serious shark attack at the popular tourist beach.
Police said a man was recovered from the water and was treated by local officers before St John Ambulance arrived.
Earlier, in an alert on its SharkSmart website, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development said it was “investigating a possible shark bite incident”.
