Negotiators called in as police lock down inner-city block over man’s threats

Specialist police have sealed off a section of an inner-Brisbane suburb as negotiators speak to a man making threats inside a home.
Police were called to the address on Alma Street in Paddington about 12.30pm with an emergency declaration now made.
In a statement, police said the situation involved a man “inside a home who is making threats”.
“Specialist police are in attendance and officers are attempting to negotiate with the man.”
Motorists and pedestrians urged to avoid the area, which includes the neighbouring Macartney, Herbert and Eilena streets.
