The Sydney Morning Herald speculated Diana was self-conscious about her dresses blowing in the wind and revealing her knees. “As she stepped off the plane at Ayers Rock, she looked down in horror. Her dress, buttoned down to the front, was immediately blown open revealing her petticoat and knees.
