Man charged with manslaughter after fatal ‘neighbourhood dispute’

A man has been charged with manslaughter and serious assault after allegedly attacking his neighbour with a broomstick over a long-running dispute in a Gold Coast suburb on Wednesday.
Police on Wednesday said 60-year-old Bradley Ward became involved in a verbal dispute about 5.15am with his neighbour, a 48-year-old man, outside an address on Whiting Street, Labrador.

The argument between Mr Ward, a father-of-two, and his neighbour became physical, police said.
Mr Ward was knocked to the ground and hit on the head with a broomstick. He managed to stand up and walk a short way before collapsing.
