Every pregnancy reduces a woman’s cancer risk, Queensland team finds

“What we were able to do with our study was look at women who had more children and we could show the reduction in risk continued beyond just three or four children, but up to eight children, each pregnancy reduced a woman’s risk of endometrial cancer by about 15 per cent.”
Professor Webb said while the study was observational, the size of the population covered and the strength of the results showed a causal connection between pregnancies and reduced risks of endometrial cancer.
She said they hoped the research could point the way to understanding what might cause the reduced risk, and whether it could be applied across the population.
