Brisbane council spends up big on corporate consultants and recruiters

Figures for the intermediary year, 2018-19, were not requested or released.
Across 2019-20, specialist recruitment company Robert Walters was paid $3.2 million, and Talent International $5.9 million, alongside the larger contracts to Hays and Randstad.
Council also engaged a host of smaller companies, including Exclaim IT for $4.7 million, Michael Page International for $2.4 million, and Rexco People for $1.8 million.
“Redundancy transition” and “organisational change” consultancy Trevor-Roberts was paid $35,450, and Lee Hecht Harrison $42,851.
Council’s finance and administration committee chairman, Adam Allan, said council would “at times engage in short-term contractual arrangements”.
