Here’s the 2020-21 Severe Weather Outlook from the Bureau. Given we’re now in a La Nina, the focus is on an increased chance of rainfall and flooding in Queensland, as I’ve been saying for months now. As usual we still can’t ignore potential impacts from bushfires, severe storms and heatwaves coming months.
Severe weather can occur at any time of the year, but October to April is the peak period for bushfires, heatwaves, flooding, tropical cyclones, and severe thunderstorms in Australia. This year our focus is on La Niña, which is likely to bring more rain to eastern and northern Australia. So, what can we expect in the months ahead? ???? An increased risk of widespread flooding for eastern Australia;
