Labor and LNP election campaign launches show different views on coronavirus pandemic

Two campaign launches have revealed two very different versions of reality — Labor’s world is full of the lurking dangers of COVID-19, while in the LNP universe, it barely rates a mention.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk emphasised health and economic recovery were inextricably linked, while Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington argued the state’s economic woes were the result of years of Labor mismanagement.
On the eve of the opening of early polling, the campaign pitches reveal where both parties think they have the winning edge.
Setting the tone for Labor’s no-frills function in a Beenleigh warehouse, Health Minister and Deputy Premier Steven Miles wasted no time mentioning the pandemic.
