Cairns ride fall victim in intensive care as witnesses traumatised by Showfest incident

A traumatised witness has described seeing a woman fall up to 30 metres from a Queensland amusement ride, as police investigate allegations she wasn’t strapped in correctly.

Organisers of Cairns Showfest have acknowledged patrons have been deeply impacted by incident on Saturday afternoon, which left the 25-year-old woman with critical injuries.

She remains in intensive care in Cairns Hospital, but her condition is stable.
