76yo Brisbane woman charged with murder of child from about 50 years ago
A 76-year-old woman from southern Brisbane has appeared in court charged with murder as police investigate the death of a child five decades ago.
Key points:
- Detective Damien Hansen says the Enright family had lived in the house since 1966
- He says scientific officers will use ground-penetrating radar to search the property
- Police want to hear from anyone who lived in the neighbourhood in the late 1960s
Detectives said they launched a homicide investigation in August after receiving information about the disappearance and suspected death of a three or four-year-old boy from Inala.
A crime scene has been declared at the house of Maureen Anne Enright, in Polaris Street, Inala, after she was taken into custody last night.
