Brisbane fruit shop owner’s threat to identify young shoplifters sparks debate

A “fed up” Brisbane shop owner has sparked debate over his threat to identify three youths who allegedly stole from him.
Mel Habchi, owner of the Mount Ommaney Fruit Market, has told 7NEWS.com.au he observed the trio stuffing about $10 worth of products into their clothing and handbags on CCTV on Monday afternoon.
The two girls and boy, believed to be aged in their mid-teens, ran from the store with the items without paying, Habchi claims.
He gave chase, initially failing to find them.
