Facebook blocks Gold Coast woman after searching for ‘Lolita’ Mexican restaurant

A Gold Coast nutritionist says she was banned from Facebook while trying to search for a local Mexican restaurant.

Ebony Neumann, from Currumbin Valley, was looking for details about local restaurant ‘Lolita’ – which takes its namesake from the 1955 novel by Russian author Vladimir Nabokov.

She believes she was punished by the social media giant for searching the term, saying both her Facebook and Instagram accounts were frozen shortly after.
